Eliminating “cold and hot spots”
The passage of air carries heating and cooling throughout a building. Having the right balance of air can eliminate areas of cold spots or hot spots and increase the system’s efficiency and your employees’ comfort.
A certified air-balancing technician has the equipment and knowledge to measure the amount of air, system pressures and system temperature and humidity. After this diagnosis, he can balance the flow of air through the duct system for maximum system performance and comfort.
Save energy/increase comfort through Zoning
Every building has zones that require different degrees of heating and cooling. For instance, the living area and sleeping areas of a home are used at different times and would generally benefit from different temperatures. Areas of a business have different usages and therefore, greater or lesser needs for cooling and heating. One thermostat can’t provide ideal comfort in every room.
- Zoning divides your building into areas with similar heating/cooling needs, occupancy times and usages.
- Zoning uses automatic dampers in the ducts of each zone. A thermostat controls each zone’s damper, opening to allow conditioned air into the area, and then closing as the need is met.
- Automatic setback thermostats allow programming of each thermostat to reach different temperatures during various times of the day. You have conditioned air where you need it, when you want it
